Cape Town Multi Service Centre identified the Netreg community in Bonteheuwel as a community in dire need of a safe educational centre for their children. Property24.com and Big Box Containers provided a recycled shipping container to serve as a play school and aftercare facility.
The educational haven would provide 25 children between the ages of three and six years the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and monitored environment. The facility will also be used to host holiday and reading programmes during school holidays.
Affinity Strategic Communication implemented and managed a strategic media drive to generate maximum awareness and interest for the charity concert, as well as managing the logistical arrangements for the launch of the play school.
The media campaign targeted print and broadcast media from the areas surrounding Bonteheuwel as well as national print and online media. To generate awareness and interest in the Kabouter Drome play school.
“I would like to thank you for participating in this worthy project. At Media24 we strive to empower children in need by providing them with the necessary tools and programmes to bring us one step closer to the dream of a literacy rate of 100%. We believe that the Kabouter Drome Play School will not only help the 35 small minds to better their future but their families and the broader community as well. Please accept our sincere appreciation for the part that you and your organization played in the success of the Netreg, Kabouter Drome Play School”, says Adrie Jurgensen, Media24: Group Coordinator: Corporate Social Investment.
