Since the Rachel's Angels Trust's inception in 2007, they have been hosting a bi-annual market day. The aim of the market day is to promote the entrepreneurial skills of the participating learners and schools. Each of the 20 participating schools had to select an entrepreneurial and fundraising venture, for which they had to draw up a business plan. They then had to bring this venture to life at the market day in the form of a stall.

Affinity was appointed to conceptualize, co-ordinate and manage the event. In addition to this we were appointed to generate maximum exposure for the day pre- and post event.

The market day was a family event that included entertainment by Blackkurrant, Chad Saaiman, La Vuvuzela, Axene and Byron Clarke. A 5km fun walk was held at the start of the day and the community was encouraged to come dressed according to the theme - Heroes for our Planet, which was to create awareness for Earth Hour.

On Saturday, 26 March 2011 more than 5 000 learners and members of the public participated in the Rachel's Angels Market day that was held at Bernadino Heights High School in Kraaifontein. Funds raised with the event went to each of the participating schools. Needless to say the event was deemed a tremendous success by all.

In addition to the event being a huge success, Affinity generated exposure to the value of more than R2 million in print, online and broadcast media.
